Exploring War Like Worlds.

I missed during my first play session that the character has different gear for when its a crafter or diplomat (and different levels) and also appearance slots. I like appearance slots. Its fun they give you them from level 1 like in Ether Saga.

Face and head are two different slots too rather than one. If you hover over the slot it tells you the name of that slot so you do not have to try to figure it out.

My sword also turns into a purple lightsaber (like the one in free realms) when I use one of my powers. I do like lightsabering the small monsters.

Looting is a bit annoying though. Most creatures do not have anything but its not smooth to loot, sometimes you end up clicking once or twice more than you need.

Crafting is complex. Again I found a vanguard crafting guide. Once I figured out with the use of the guide how to make the first recipe it became very fun and interesting.  Its like blacksmith in free realms. Its a whole job in itself with its own clothes and things to do.

Character creation reminds me of Everquest 2. The models are pretty dated compared to Perfect World or Warhammer. Simular sort of dated to Everquest 2.

The races choices are interesting like Everquest. There is a wolf, fox and cat races along with giants, elves, orcs, goblins and humans. It reminds me very much of DND as the races are all old favorites. The descriptions of the races have that sort of DND feel too.

When your designing the characters they first appear with no clothes until you get to the clothes selection box when your designing the character. It was a bit odd. The clothes options were not great but there was ones that covered up the character.

The classes are also very DND, including a Pscion classes. However I did not get a great idea what they all did. So I picked what might be interesting and figured I’d try it out in game.

The classes choice did not change the clothes or give weapons to the model of the toon. I found that confusing as I am used to that from other games.

When I entered the game I found that the class armour loads then. So my little fox is in armour. The fox character is smaller than expected but cool.

Looking around the first area, I like the conversations you have to get quests. The Diplomacy quests however are pretty confusing and not very well explained.  However the internet provides a guide to Vanguards diplomacy mini game.

Its fun to run around super fast (due to being the height of a gnome) from quest to quest. There is also a craft trainer with craft quests.

I’m not sure how much I like the trial island. I prefer seeing the game world and seeing players who are leveling alts.

And this time I will check if there is a European website first.

I had heard a lot about this game, so it was my intention to try it sometime. I also tend to jump around a lot in my game play, jumping to new things and back to old things I liked.

My jump after this will probally be the ff xi trial. Lotros will be staying for some time, I bought two gamecards on sale which will give me 4 more months in the game.
