Looking around the Perfect World and saw the ad for Torchlight? Wondered what it was?

Word of Ember blazed across the land, and the town of Torchlight flared to life.
Ember is the essence of magic and the keystone of alchemy; it lures the restless with promises of power and riches. Miners burrowed deep beneath the dirt streets of Torchlight, discovering veins of the ore richer than any found in living memory- but they were not the first to covet these mines. The miners from Torchlight broke through into the buried past, a dangerous labyrinth of caverns and ruined civilizations, twisted creatures and the bones of those who came before. Evil bubbles up from the depths and threatens to overrun Torchlight as it has so many others. The heart of a villain has infused the Ember, and his darkness seeps through the veins.

To survive, the townspeople of Torchlight must break the cycle of destruction; they need a champion who can destroy the evil at its root. Removing the source of the rot may purify the Ember, but it is a long and perilous journey. The champion must battle through rock and fire, through lost cities and ancient tombs, into the palace of the villain himself.

Now we also have torchlight insider to fill us in.

You can preorder on the perfect world website here.

Someone told me Dofus (the main french rpg) was now free to play rather than trial. So I went to check it out.

Apparently you can play for free and at some point you get extra content by paying.

Its worth trying out with their sequel on the way, and with it being so popular. Remember they already have 10 million players 😀

They are planning a graphical upgrade by the end of the year but at the moment it still has charm.

I’m still looking around and trying to figure how the game works. Movement between maps still confuses me. However the art is cute.

Luna Online have details up for their halloween event.

Halloween Scream Event (October 22 – November 4)
Halloween in Luna gets off to a spooky start with the Halloween Scream event! Log in now and join in the festivities, including in-game riddles, a chance at Halloween-themed permanent costumes, and of course… candy!

When is it on for?

Thursday, October 22nd – Wednesday, November 4th

How can I Participate?

Log in and visit Candy Doll in Alker Harbor to get started! Answer Luna trivia questions to earn candy or grab a partner and head to a date dungeon to defeat monsters and take their candy instead!

I have gathered a few costumes in free realms by doing the quests and dailies.

My fairy alt has a yeti costume.

My main has a squirrel costume (chaty) from doing the daily “trick or treat” three days in a row, a Changeling Ninja Costume, a Bixie Costume from the main quest line.

She also has a cat mask and dog mask and a ghost bucket.

Casualstrolltomordor has a great guide to the fall festival quests.

I must start doing this one tonight.

Directly next to the game master there will be some sort of item that when you mouse over it you will see your cursor change to a loot icon. In Bree this is a pumpkin patch, in Thorin’s Hall it’s a geode box, Duillond has a scroll box and the Shire you will find an apple tub.

When you loot this item you will randomly receive one of three items. Barter your item to the nearby Game-Master for Fall Festival Tokens. The smaller or lesser of the items are worth 1 token, medium are worth 2 and larger items are worth 3 tokens. These are based on luck so just cross your fingers and click!

If you have not heard of the upcoming expansion take a look at this rising tide preview and this faq on rising tide.

We know there is a new race coming, the Tideborn.

The newest race is called the Tideborn, ancient and powerful beings that dwell underwater. Having previously existed for thousands of years, unknown by the rest of the denizens of Perfect World, their addition will add a new layer of story to the game to uncover the Tideborn’s mysterious return.

We know there will be two new classes, the Psychic and Assassin.

The Tideborn will offer two new classes to PWI. The new classes available are tentatively being called the Psychic and Assassin!

The Assassin class picture has them wearing almost nothing. Guess I should make a male Assassin. They uses dual daggers as weapon, wear light armor and deal extreme damage in a short period.

The Psychic use magical orb, each different orb has different effect when using skills. They assists attack during the battle. Key word: repression. Sounds interesting. Maybe its a debuffing class?

In the faq I heard the level cap is not going up. Which is good because it already takes a huge amount of time to reach it.

There is a video here on the expansion called Tideborn – Tale of Mermaid.

It looks pretty gloomy, the demons have already given the tideborn a good kicking before we turn up to help. However I am hoping that not everything is lost.

For every 40 deeds completed, your maximum number of active quests will increase by 1. The cap for the number of active quests is 50. It would take 400 completed deeds to get the maximum number of active quest slots!

Source is this post from casualstrolltomordor.

This is pretty cool as its something you can do when you just want to lazy around (deeds) and chat to your guild.
